Services

We provide massage therapy sessions at any pressure, ranging from light to firm. Based on the issues you’d like to address, we use a combination of techniques from various modalities to create a customized massage for you. The modalities we offer include:

  • This is the most common type of massage that people receive. Using long gliding strokes, kneading, rubbing, and vibration of the muscles, this massage can promote general relaxation, tension relief, and improve circulation.

  • Deep tissue massage is an umbrella term for massage modalities that target the deeper, inner layers of fascial and muscular tissue.

Trigger point therapy targets trigger points—hyper irritable and sensitive spots within the neuromuscular tissue that can cause pain both locally and in referred areas of the body. Trigger points can develop due to muscle injury, overuse, poor posture, or repetitive strain, and are commonly found in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips. By applying sustained pressure with stretching, releasing these points can relieve muscle tension, reduce pain, and increase range of motion.

Myofascial release targets fascia, which is the thin, elastic connective tissue that surrounds muscles, nerves, and organs. By stretching and lengthening the fascia with slow, sustained pressure, myofascial release can relieve chronic pain, increase mobility, and release fascial adhesions.

  • Cupping therapy is a healing technique that has been documented during the times of Ancient Egypt, China, the Middle East, and was used by Hippocrates in Ancient Greece.

Cups made of glass, plastic, or silicone are placed on the skin to create a vacuum suction that pulls the skin upward. This process increases blood flow and loosens muscular/fascial tissue, which can help to:

    • Improve circulation

    • Release muscle tension

    • Reduce pain and inflammation

    • Promote relaxation

While cups are generally applied to the back during a massage, they can also be applied to the arms and legs. The cups are placed on the skin and then left on for several minutes. The cups may also be moved up and down the skin to help further loosen the tissue.

As the cups pull blood to the surface of the skin, discoloration will appear. The different colors of the cupping marks can signify the circulatory condition of the area.

Light red or pink: Good circulation with minimal stagnation

Bright red: Inflammation or tension that is actively being released by the cupping therapy

    Dark red/purple: Long-term stagnation/restricted blood flow

Cupping marks usually fade after a few days but can last up to two weeks, especially if the marks are darker. Staying hydrated will help the marks fade faster!

  • Geriatric massage is massage therapy tailored to support the unique needs of seniors. Using lighter pressure and gentle, passive stretching, this type of massage can reduce chronic pain, reduce stress, improve sleep, promote circulation, and increase flexibility and mobility.

  • Reflexology is the use of applied pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears, based on the belief that these areas correspond to different organs and systems in the body. In traditional Chinese medicine, reflexology is thought to help maintain the flow of vital energy (qi) throughout the body, preventing blockages that could lead to illness. It is also theorized that by stimulating nerves in the feet, hands, or ears, signals are sent to the central nervous system, promoting relaxation and potentially assisting organ function.
